Children’s Mental Health Week 2020

The week of February 3rd 2020 marks Children’s Mental Health Week.

The aim of the week is to focus on the importance of looking after our emotional well-being, and is run by the charity, Place2BE.

The theme for this year is ‘Find your Brave’. Bravery is different for every individual and can be seen in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Bravery can be about sharing your worries, asking for help, trying something new or going out of your comfort zone.

Building your confidence, your self-esteem and making yourself feel good are all parts of Finding your Brave.

Raising awareness for the mental health of children and young people is a crucial part of their overall well-being. One statistic says that as many as 1 in 8 children have a diagnosable mental health condition.

Talking with young people to find out what makes them feel brave can help to inspire and empower them. These discussions can have a massive impact on the well-being of children and young people.
