How do I talk to a young person about accessing YES
It is not always easy talking to a young person about how they are feeling in day to day life. Sometimes talking to a family member can be uncomfortable for a young person, they may prefer to talk to friends or someone outside their inner circle.
If you believe a young person would benefit from the services YES offer, it might be helpful to provide them with information about YES.
This can be done by giving them our website details, a leaflet or a contact number.
If you have concerns please contact YES directly.
It may be helpful to let them know that if they choose to get in contact with us it will be confidential and not shared back to you as the parent/carer (unless there is concern for their welfare).
A reminder: One question we cannot answer is if you ask whether your child or young person uses the YES service. We have an agreement with young people that their contact with us is confidential.
